A12AA - Family Caregiver Support Program

Description:

The Family Caregiver Support Program provides support services to help informal caregivers of:
-an adult 60 years or older
-a person with Alzheimer's disease or related disorder (regardless of age)
-a relative 18 years or younger, if you are 55 years or older
-an adult child aged 19-59, with a disability

While caring for family members can be rewarding, it often takes a physical, emotional and financial toll on the family. Caregivers who do not have access to a support system may experience burnout, leading to increased stress and other problems. The Family Caregiver Support Program helps address these caregiver challenges through:

-Support Groups
-Information, Referral and Assistance
-Respite
-Care Coordination
-Education and Training

Services are available at no cost. Voluntary contributions are accepted. No eligible caregiver will be denied services because of an inability to contribute.

General Caregiver Support Group, starting January 25th, 2024 on the 4th Thursday of every month from 1:30pm-3:00pm
The purpose of this support group is to come together with others who are dealing with similar circumstances. Individuals just like you, who may be caring for someone with a specific medical condition and/or mental health issue. Whatever you or a loved one are facing, sometimes the best medicine can be the voice of people who have walked in your shoes to remind you that you are not alone.
