Description:

They provide services under three main categories.

COMMUNITY SERVICES
They provide activities and programs, educational seminars and workshops, meeting areas by arrangement, outreach to senior citizens, senior services information and referrals, non-emergency medical transportation to senior citizens (60 years and over) going to medical appointments, general public transportation with daily designated routes through a dial-a-ride system, senior nutrition congregate meals, and senior nutrition home delivered meals.

HUMAN SERVICES
They provide behavioral health and recovery services, eligibility services, energy, utility assistance and weatherization, housing services and support, and social services. They also have a program to help with energy assistance. This program has Cares Act Funding to help with a one-time payment for utility assistance for your PG&E, propane, or firewood. This funding is in addition to current LIHEAP energy assistance. Please contact them to see if you qualify.

Connections Emergency Shelter:
The Connections Emergency Shelter Program provides a respectful, responsible, and safe low-barrier emergency housing shelter working to help the houseless of Mariposa get back home.
Connections dedicated staff members provide intensive case management to help those experiencing a housing crisis identify the barriers to housing and help them become linked to the services they want and need.

Staff is on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Landlord partnership program:
Landlords are essential partners of the rental assistance program, which helps low-income households in Mariposa County. Landlord Partnership Program aims to increase the appeal of landlord participation in the Housing Choice Voucher Program through providing assistance and support to willing Landlords and tenants.

PUBLIC HEALTH
They provide air pollution burn permit information, COVID-19 information, air quality index, community health, health topics, environmental health, and public health emergency preparedness.

The Home Safe Program: The Home Safe Program was established to support the safety and housing stability of individuals involved in Adult Protective Services by
providing housing-related assistance using evidence-based practices for homelessness prevention. Home Safe funding is intended for elder adults (60 years and older effective January 1, 2022) and dependent adults (18-59 who are disabled effective January 1, 2022) who are experiencing or at imminent risk of homelessness as a result of elder or dependent abuse, neglect, self-neglect, or financial exploitation, as determined by Mariposa County APS.

The Housing And Disability Advocacy Program: The Housing and Disability Advocacy Program (HDAP), created in 2016, is a locally administered program operated by counties and tribes to provide housing supports and disability benefit application assistance/advocacy to people likely eligible for disability benefits and experiencing (or at risk of) homelessness. HDAP offers outreach, case management, disability advocacy, and housing assistance for individuals, youth, and families who are likely eligible for disability benefits and are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Housing Rehabilitation Program: designed to provide financing to repair income eligible and owner-occupied homes in need of essential health and/or safety repairs. Some common home repairs include: roofing, plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, insulation, foundation, windows, and handicap accessible modifications.
Financial and Eligibility:
-Families are thoroughly screened to determine eligibility
-Financial assistance is provided through 0% interest deferred payment loans
-Deferred payment loans require no monthly payments for 30 years
-Loans are due and payable upon sale, change of title or change of use, or in 30 years
-The home must be owner-occupied and located within county limits
