Hearing Foundation, Ear of the Lion

The Hearing Foundation (Ear of the Lion) is a non-profit, 501© 3 public benefit corporation. Northern California Lions Clubs formed it in 1982. It is a MD-4 sanctioned Lions program. It has now expanded to clubs throughout California and Nevada. Clubs from all parts of California and Nevada are supporting it and referring patients to be assisted. The Lions realized that many who are hearing-impaired do not have the means to improve their hearing. The Foundation has a hearing aid bank and supports patients who need hearing aids. To date, thousands of patients have received care, through our efforts, that otherwise would not have been available to them. The Foundation's funding comes from Lions and Lions Clubs who understand and believe in our program. We also receive donations, both large and small from individuals who believe in our program. We have a trust fund where we deposit income from $250 Tosch Fellowships, $500 Life memberships, and $1000 Alexander Graham Bell Fellowships. Only the earnings from the trust account are used for operating the patient care program. They do not have office access. They work strictly off of an application process.
