Description:

Interfaith is a community service organization founded in 1988. Interfaith is owned and operated by 15 member churches and is staffed by more than 200 volunteers.
Food, clothing and personal services are now provided to more than 700 Tuolumne County families every month.

They offer the following programs:

Gas Vouchers: for medical, legal, therapy, dental, and interview appointments. Recipients can receive this one time per year and they will need to show proof of appointment, California Drivers License, and current insurance. These vouchers are for use at Gold Country Service Station and can be picked up 3 days before the appointment. Vouchers are available for Sonora = $10, Tuolumne = $15, Oakdale = $25, and Beyond = $50.

Special Foods Program: for nutritional supplemental assistance prescribed by a Doctor or Oncology Nurse. The vouchers are for use at Price Co. and are $100 every 3 months. Approved recipients can receive these vouchers up to 4 times a year.

Water Program: for past due bills, up to $150.00. The balance must be paid off first by the client or other service program. This program is for any water company that will accept the vouchers. Recipients can receive this voucher 1 time per year.

Propane Program: for tank minimum fill of 100 gallons or pay off an outstanding bill up to $150.00 (balance must be paid off first). This is available to qualified recipients 1 time a year.

Firewood Program: Clients who meet strict guidelines (single mothers, disabled and needy seniors) are invited to sign up annually for one-half cord of firewood. Phone Barbara for details at 532-0905. The period to sign up for the coming winter season is August 1st to September 30th.

Grace Fund - (Tuolumne County residents only) - A program that provides a need in Tuolumne County that other agencies do not provide for. By giving people a "Hand Up" not a "hand-out" their services help clients to move forward from an unexpected expense or life event that would otherwise set them back financially.

They have Farmer's Market coupons available for seniors. This is a limited time program, usually May - October. Please call for exact details and process on how to get the coupons.
