Description:
Caregiver eligibility for services in Alpine, Amador, and Calaveras counties:
To be eligible for services, a client must be caring for an adult with a cognitive impairing condition that occurred after the age of 18 (for example: dementia, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease) or caring for someone 60 and over regardless of diagnosis and requiring assistance with two or more activities of daily living.
Care recipient cannot be receiving Medi-Cal or IHSS in order to receive direct services, such as, respite, legal consultation, and counseling.
Their mission is to improve the well being of caregivers and provide the following services:
Support Groups
Education and Training
Family Consultation and Counseling
Legal and Financial Counseling
Respite Care
Information and Referral for Caregivers
